"People of the World Want Change"

Listen to a new song promoting peace through peaceful resistance.
Inspired by the brave demonstrators throughout Arab Spring,
the song encourages people to stand up with others
and speak out for their rights.
After 18 days of protesting in Tahrir Square,
President Hosni Mubarek of Egypt was ousted.

Change can happen in other countries, too.
Please share the song with others around the world.
Let's spread the word!

We encourage you to listen to the song and like it on Facebook!

Give Back Kick Back - Travel with a purpose
One of the features of our website is to provide you with links to various volunteeer travel organizations. In addition, we are happy to be working with Give Back Kick Back Travel to design trips of our own.
Morocco anyone? In the past we designed a wonderful trip to Morocco that featured a hands-on service project imbedded in the trip. That itinerary can be yours for a custom group! Ancient music, amazing sights, and intoxicating scents.  This beautiful country sits at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East, rich with history, culture and music.  Shopping, dancing, listening to Sufi music, hiking, and much more are on this amazing itinerary. Give Back Kick Back Travel can customize both the trip itinerary and the service project to your preferences. One project we love is donating and helping plant fruit trees for poor women farmers.
Read about a previous trip to Mali we arranged. We helped a local school by donating and planting fruit trees and digging a water pipeline and water well for a school garden. We followed that by going to the fabulous Festival in the Desert outside of Timbuktu.  This trip far exceed our expecttions.  It was gratifying and rewarding to see that others, like us, wanted to "give back" to the country they were visiting.  (Note:  Due to the 2012 military coup and previous Al Qaida fighting in the country, Mali travel has been suspended for the time being.)
Give Back Kick Back Travel will customize trips that include a hands-on service project for groups of four or more to Africa or South America.

Half The Sky Movement
Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide

The central moral challenge of our time is reaching a tipping point. Just as slavery was the defining struggle of the 19th century and totalitarianism of the 20th, the fight to end the oppression of women and girls worldwide defines our current century.

Hidden in the overlapping problems of sex trafficking and forced prostitution, gender-based violence, and maternal mortality is the single most vital opportunity of our time — and women are seizing it. From Somaliland to Cambodia to Afghanistan, women's oppression is being confronted head on and real, meaningful solutions are being fashioned. Change is happening, and it’s happening now.

Journalists Nicholas Kristof (we LOVE Mr. Kristof and "Like" him on Facebook!) and Sheryl WuDunn took on this urgent moral challenge in 2009 with their acclaimed best-selling book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. They encouraged readers all over the world to do the same.

Now, a landmark movement — inspired by Kristof and WuDunn’s work and also entitled Half the Sky — is working to amplify the book’s impact. Ignited by a high-profile national television event and fueled by innovative multi-platform initiatives, Half the Sky is galvanizing even more people to join the burgeoning movement for change.
